Portraying Unrealistic Image through Exaggerated Expectations Is Not The Eritrean Government’s Political Culture: President Isaias

Asmara, 21 October 2009- In an interview he conducted with Reuters News Agency here today, President Isaias Afwerki underscored that it is not in the Eritrean government’s political culture to portray unrealistic image through exaggerated expectations. “Hence, we don’t want to give invented promises regarding gold and other mining ventures,” he elaborated.

Meeting of Eritrean Ministerial Cabinet underway , Sep 2, 2009, 10:39Asmara, 2 September 2009 – A meeting of the Eritrean Cabinet of Ministers opened today at the Denden Hall here in the capital.
In a working paper he presented at the opening session, President Isaias Afwerki shed light on the national action plan mapped out to provide added impetus to the ongoing development endeavors in the year 2010-2011 in different parts of the country towards reinforcing the achievements being registered in efforts to attain food security through avoiding rain-dependent agricultural practices.

Indicating that agriculture is the cornerstone of the national economy, the President outlined the action program designed to create conducive ground for other sectors, including fisheries, mining, infrastructure and the services to make enhanced contribution in the country’s Gross National Product (GNP) on priority basis. MOGADISHU (Sh. Network) – the transitional Federal government police department officials have said that they banned from the soldiers to have unlawful weapons through the Somali capital Mogadishu, official told Shabelle radio on Friday.

Colonel Abdullahi Hassan Barise, the spokesman of police department told reporters that they totally forbidden from troops having illegal guns and also those who do not wear the uniform of the army in the streets of the capital began from that day adding that no soldier could be seen in Mogadishu by no having the dress.
