Muslims Persecute Eritrean Christians ,By J. Grant Swank Jr. (06/23/08)
Some have to read Muslim prayers in order to survive. Others have to proclaim aloud that they have converted from Christianity to Islam in order not to be slain. Still others have to read from the Koran and say they agree with what they read.
The persecution against Christians has been going on for a long time. Eritrea is one of the most vicious countries persecuting Christian believers.
Now per International Christian Concern (ICC) in Washington DC, Egypt has deported 400 Eritrean refugees last week. That means that these humans will be tortured, some murdered.
“Eritrean Christians who had fled their country following a clamp down on Christians are among the deportees. According to ICC’s annual Hall of Shame Report for 2008, Eritrea is one of the world’s top ten worst Christian persecutors.
“There are more than 2,000 Christians that are detained in Eritrean prison cells, metal shipping containers and military barracks.
“In addition to facing deportation, many of the Eritreans in Egyptian refugee camps are routinely harassed by Egyptian authorities simply because of their Christian faith.”
Muslims follow through with the Koran stipulations of doing away with infidels when confronted with ardent Eritrean Christians. There are countless stories that will never surface having to do with saints of the cross who do not yield to the Muslim demands. Instead, they yield their souls to heaven’s reward rather than recant Christ.
All the while in North America the theologically liberal churches continue to disown the Bible and Christ as the Savior of the world. At the same time that apostasy grows in the United States and Canada, all enjoying freedom of religion, these Eritrean Christians are suffering unbelievably.
“’These [Eritrean] men, women and children, for example in Nasr al Nuba prison, to name, but one, are being beaten, tortured, and to add insult to injury, they are being verbally abused for being Christians even when they are not.
“’There seems to be a dominant attitude among the prison guards that Christians are less than human, and do not deserve sunlight and fresh air or any kind of humane treatment,’ said Elizabeth Chyrum, Director of Human Rights Concern Eritrea in a letter she wrote to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.”
Christians must pray for these fellow believers. Also, Christians must contact authorities to protest persecution. Note:
Please also call to the office of UNHCR and bring to their attention the plight of Eritrean Christians who are suffering in Egypt and Yemen. Please ask them to resettle the Eritreans in other countries where they can enjoy freedom of religion and other freedoms.

Why on earth is this happening to Eritreans, we never wounded any one, we never ate any body/s food and we never crossed somebody’s interest.
These guys prayed to God, who in the world Made Christianity and who in the world made Muslim. Please the government and People of Egypt don’t would as for no reason when we sought asylum in your country. Please World international bodies consider these poor victims of unreasonable authorities.
I hated being human being because of the human crimes
It´s better to back home instead of staying in Egyptian prisons, can someone imagine under which conditions Christian prisoners exist there among Moslems criminals????? Egyptians shoot on refugees, what a shame!!
Christians like members of the Eritrean Orthodox Church, the Catholic Church and the Lutherans do not have any problems in Eritria and you know it.
And you know exactly why the others have problems.
Not every refugee is a “Christian”. You are misusing the refugees for your own propaganda!!!
j Grant Swank Jr. you are trying to fraud the people of eritrea and the world by arrogant comment first you have to know the culture and social condition of eritrea while writing disgusted and very danger article ,so please dont attepmt to decieve keep it your idealogy for u. u are making a business by religion why, becouse u dont know the value of unity the people of eritrea and uhave to respect culture no need to interfere which is not your business .
Eritreans live peacefully in eritrea ,whether musilms and christians ,we respect each other .we stand in peace and hard times together ,but these egyptions are losers ,a loser always tried to imposed his aim brutally and will never succeed, areligion supposed to be like u accepted it willingly but when y accept it when u fear persicution ,that will not be a faith ,it is a fake religion .

HALELUJAH, OH PEOPLE OF CHRISTIAN U MAY BE INSULTED ,ACCUSED OR KILLED BUT DON’T GIVE UP UR FAITH ,GOD WILL BE WITH U AL THE TIME .THE HOLY SAVIOR WILL COME TO YOU /
as we know from the history the eritrean peaple struggel for thier independence with out relegine problem ,you peape living in dispora creating problemfor ouer peaple at home, therfore don,t use the chistian or islam as plotical instrument
As far as I can recall the Eritrean people have learned to live side by side, regardless of their differences, for hundreds of years. Even during the worst of times during the struggle for independance, Muslim and Christian Eritreans fought side by side without any thought to their religious beliefs. There is an immense understanding that has developed among the different ethnic group, which no one can deny.
I actually think the world can learn a lot from the Eritreans.
But now we witness fabricated stories that paint a distorted image driven by political motives.
I for one, know for a fact that these stories are just that: fairytales!!
I read the article which distorted the truth . first of all i comdanmed what the egyption doning . secand the people who deported to Eritrea are both muslims and christian not only christian as the article mentioned third , every muslim believe in eritrea the government almost controled by christans obout 90 percent of civel sevices are christians , the head of state is a christian and 99 percent of the military genrals arepercent are christian.and so on . myself is christian. i donot know if u what u are talking . if u donot know go read about the Eritrean history before destoring the truth . my self is a christian and i donot accept the using the religion as political instrument .at the same time i blame the mesekerem website to ink this article without correcting the fuctual errors on it

The most stupid individual in this world is more intelligent than you. Therefore you cannot hoodwink anybody.

No. 1 Mr. Grant, for your information; the number of Muslim Eritrean detainees in Egypt are more than the Christians but, for me as a Muslim what I am concerned is “Eritrea” regardless of the religion and ethnicity. As per my information why Egypt is doing this? It was Eritrean mistake when Palestine’s have broken the boarder with Egypt in the month of April/May some Eritrean has tried to cross to Israel. This was totally against the law to cross the red light which the Eritreans shouldn’t have touched it in that historical complicated and conflict reign. Israelis/Americans where not happy and Egypt have to show that they still respect the peace agreement with Israel and to assure that; they have started detaining/punishing who ever touched that wrong button.

For information the reason why Egypt started detaining Eritrean is during the Israel/Palestine conflict and when the palatines broke their boarder and enter to Egypt on the month of April/May, 2008 few Eritrean tried to sneak to Israel through this boarder.
We all know this area is red-line for all and anyone who crosses this line will consider as he crosses the national security of Egypt. Therefore Egypt to confirm their peace agreement with Israel is continue and respected; they started detaining/punishing who ever touched this wrong button. Unfortunately our people were in a wrong place and at the wrong time.

To all Eritrean; lets all try to do what we can to assist our bro & sis…. Eritrea will not forget history that Egypt is one of our friend and have supported our independence and the first President who visited our country after freedom was the president of Egypt. We hope Egypt to show little sympathy on Eritrean brothers and sisters refugees who are in a critical situation
But, to those Christian friends who drop silly comments above; please do not let the media fools you. We know better our country more than anyone… we know who open the first page of our history and why? Muslims/Christians have dedicated themselves for this country not to rule one the other but to enjoy both the freedom, justice, equality, development… So, Mr. Grant, it seems you have luck of information about our country…. But, first you need to know where the power is before accusing who is persecuting whom?
ERITREA FOR ERITREAN ,MR GRANT, christian&muslim live side by side in peace,we love each other, we respect each other, i hope mr grant to visit eritrea,
